ABOUT THE ARTISTS

 

     Sculptor Maryclaire Jordan’s work is frequently figurative or narrative. She works in a variety of materials, but mainly in metal and clay. Her inspiration comes from nature and stories, especially folklore and mythology. Jordan holds a Master’s Degree in Studio Art/Sculpture from Marywood University, Scranton, PA. Her sculpture ranges from small figurative bronzes and one of a kind jewelry pieces to garden sculpture.

     Jordan’s work has been exhibited at local and regional juried events, including a one-person show at the Everhart Museum, Scranton, Pa. She is a charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and is a member of the National Sculpture Society and the Society of North American Goldsmiths. She established DIA STUDIO, Scranton, PA, in September, 2000.

 



     Noreen Blewitt is an artist from Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. She painted as a self-taught artist for several years. In 1998 she began studying with Steven Colley, and, since 2001 has been studying under the direction of Michael Molnar. Working mainly in oil medium, she paints landscapes, still life and portraits in a classic realism style.

     Blewitt manages Dia Studio in Scranton, Pa., which she co-founded with her sister and studio-owner, Maryclaire Jordan.

     Her work is displayed at the studio and has been presented at various juried exhibitions in Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties. She had a one-person show at the Everhart Museum, Scranton, Pa. and has been profiled in several publications. She is a member of the AFA Gallery, Scranton, the Wyoming Valley Art League, the Art Renewal Center and the Portrait Society of America.
